Confirming this, the Ambala municipal commissioner Satyendra Duhan said he had received the letter on which the considerations were still being discussed.
Mayor Ramesh Mal is against the abolition of MC as the MC is to complete its term in six months. If the corporation is abolished, Ramesh Mal would be the first and last mayor of Ambala. Meanwhile, the BJP councillors were hailing about the abolishment and said it would be good for the residents while the opposition councillors stated it as a conspiracy to obstruct the development of Ambala, as municipality would get fewer funds.
